Hapag Lloyd Cruises does not offer ships for the mass market but specialises in luxury and expedition cruises. The shipping company still focuses on the German market, despite the increase in foreign passengers. Hapag Lloyd’s fleet currently consists of four cruise ships. In 2019 two more expedition ships will be put into service. The ships in the fleet each offer comparatively few seats for passengers, which has the advantage that the individual passenger is offered more on expedition cruises.

Hapag Lloyd’s cruise fleet consists of four ships and will be expanded to six ships in 2019, as two newbuildings in the luxury expedition segment will be commissioned in these two years. In general, the ships offer space for few passengers and are also designed for expeditions rather than the mass market. The individual ships in the fleet all have a very high ice class, so that destinations such as the Arctic or Antarctica can also be reached.
