About AIDA Cruises
AIDA Cruises is a shipping company headquartered in Rostock and market leader in the German cruise market. The success story began in 1996 with the present AIDAcara. 1999 marks the beginning of the history of the AIDA shipping company, at that time still under the name “Seetours”. Only 5 years later the AIDA received its current brand name and has been cruising the seas under the Italian flag ever since. In the meantime, AIDA Cruises has even been named, or rather belongs to the world market leader for cruises. In 1996 Deutsche Reederei entered the market for the first time with the AIDA Cara. With its headquarters in Rostock, almost 8,000 employees are currently working on AIDA cruise ships.
In the meantime, countless ships belong to the AIDA. At the very beginning, the AIDAcara was the first ship to be ready to transport guests across the seas. Since then, 11 more ships have been put into service by AIDA, such as the AIDAvita or AIDAaura. And that’s not all, because in the future several more AIDA ships are to be launched. Most recently, it was the AIDAnova which was allowed to introduce the new generation. So we can be curious what AIDA is planning for its guests at sea in the coming years.
AIDA means variety and stands for excellent quality and above all for diversity. So it is by no means boring on an AIDA cruise. Adventure and relaxation, two concepts that work perfectly together. Within the last few years, AIDA has managed to create a very special atmosphere on board. Already in 2014 the shipping company received an award and the German Cruise Prize for the “best family product” and the best “service quality. Of course it is not excluded that further awards and honours will follow.
For travellers from Germany, German-speaking crew members are always available on board the AIDA, so that there is no need to worry from a language point of view. A dress code is also prescribed for the employees, so that you can always recognise your contact person. Cruise ships from AIDA usually sail at night, so that the destinations can be visited and experienced during the day.
