Live tracking and data notes
The live ship tracker on this page provides a map-based AIS view for VEGA STAR through the configured external tracking provider. AIS information can be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable because reception and provider coverage vary by area and vessel. The map is intended for general vessel discovery and position context and must not be used for navigation or safety-critical decisions.
Additional profile sections appear only when suitable source records are available, including ownership and management, engine or classification information, surveys, inspections, casualties, and sale or demolition events. Missing fields are not filled with invented values, so some modules may be absent when the underlying data snapshot does not contain sufficient evidence. The profile is compiled from controlled source records maintained for Ship-Tracker.org and may change as newer verified data becomes available.

Tradewinds : http://www.tradewindsnews.com/drycargo/1531043/dryships-sells-vlgc-fleet-and-panamax-bulker-brace In a statement today, DryShips said its four VLGCs would be sold to an unrelated buyer complete with their time charters. Economou moved into the VLGC market with an order at Hyundai Heavy Industries in late 2015 for two vessels backed a time charter with Shell. It later contracted two more ships which are on charter to Gunvor. The vessels were flipped into DryShips early last year, with a plan hatched to create a spin-off called Gas Ships earlier in 2018. That move was soon iced, with market sources telling TradeWinds DryShips has been circulating the vessels for sale during the past few months. Existing players are known to have taken a look at the vessels, however, sources familiar with the transaction say the vessels went to a financial buyer that has shipping assets, but no presence yet in the LPG sector. The price for the vessels was said to be in the mid-$70m range. The sale was motivated by the lack of market interest in spinning off the VLGC assets into a separate public entity, some sources suggest. With most peer VLGC owners trading below net asset values and an uncertain recovery, DryShips saw an outright sale as the best way to exit the sector, with an eye to recycling the proceeds into LNG assets. As TradeWinds has reported this summer, Economou has been selling older panamax tonnage from his public and private fleets.
