Sobre Hurtigruten
Hurtigruten is represented here through protected ferry vessel profiles and verified operator associations already available in the database. Ferry fleets can change as vessels are introduced, chartered, sold, renamed or reassigned, so the page separates current-name profiles from former and historical entries instead of treating every linked vessel as part of one fixed present-day fleet.
The hub is designed to help readers move from an operator overview to individual ferry pages while keeping established URLs and vessel identities intact. This is especially useful for ferries that have changed names or operators during their service life.
Hurtigruten Ferry Profiles and Capacity Data
Ferry vessel pages can include passenger capacity, car capacity, freight capacity, lane metres, cabins, berths, service speed and other technical information when verified values are available. These fields are useful for RoPax and passenger vessels because they describe both passenger accommodation and vehicle or freight capability.
Where an IMO number is available it is used as the persistent vessel identifier, helping connect earlier names with the same physical ship. Missing capacity or technical values are not estimated, and historical profile URLs are retained rather than overwritten.
Current, Former and Historical Hurtigruten Vessels
Current-name ferry profiles are shown separately from former-name or historical pages. A vessel that left the operator, changed name or reached the end of its service life can therefore remain available as a reference without being presented as a current fleet member.
This structure creates a practical operator hub for vessel research, internal navigation and comparison while keeping current and historical context clearly separated.
Preguntas frecuentes
How many vessel profiles are linked to Hurtigruten?
This hub currently resolves 14 protected vessel profiles associated with Hurtigruten.
Why are former ship names shown separately?
Ship names can change while the IMO number remains the same. Ship-Tracker.org preserves established historical URLs and separates former-name profiles from current-name profiles.
Are all vessels shown here currently operated by Hurtigruten?
Not necessarily. Historical or former-name profiles may reflect earlier associations. Current operator relationship data is combined with protected legacy hub context rather than replacing historical URLs.
Data & Accuracy
Fleet membership uses two controlled inputs: existing protected hub links and the ownership/operator relationship layer. Operator-only matches are additionally checked against hub brand boundaries so sister brands are not silently merged. Vessel identities are reconciled against the mapping and Vessel Master, with IMO used as the persistent primary identifier where available. Missing or uncertain data is not invented.
